4th Annual Rock the House Triples it’s Fundraising Goal!
Chatsworth, CA
The 4th Annual Rock the House benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC) tripled it’s projected fundraising goal and proved to be the highest grossing to date with nearly $30,000 in net proceeds donated to RMHCSC. Event founder Dan Pulos, President of S2K Graphics, and Jim Howard of James Howard, CPA teamed up with McDonald’s West Division office and Golden State Foods (GSF) to provide the most successful Rock the House event to date.
With entertainment provided by corporate bands including GSF’s Duct Tape & Beer and The Drunken Saints featuring Jim & Ryan Howard, the crowd was on its feet and dancing throughout the evening! Headlining the event was The Steve Plotkin Band featuring McDonald’s West Division President, Steve Plotkin and Tim Streit of The Coca Cola® Company.
Two electric guitars were auctioned during the evening bringing in over $5,000. Duct Tape & Beer’s Bill Sanderson presented a guitar donated by GSF that was adorned with the autographs of ZZ Top’s Frank Beard, Dusty Hill, and Billy Gibbons. A custom McDonald’s themed showpiece that packed a beautiful sound was also on the block for bidding. Bill Gibbons of Davis Elen Advertising (no relation to Billy), emcee’d the event and did the honors of working the crowd to bid up these valuable items. At one point, the bidding was intense as Pam Plotkin, Clay Paschen, and Jon Fosnight were all feverishly bidding against one another for a chance at taking one of these rare instruments home. The winning bidders were Jon Fosnight and Trip Reed.
The highlights of the music program included Duct Tape & Beer’s rendition of Pat Benatar’s Hit Me with your Best Shot featuring Kim Crane’s powerhouse vocals and unstoppable energy. The event’s headliner, The Steve Plotkin Band, put out a larger than life version of Lie to Me with Plotkin’s vocals solidly backed by four gospel singers. The Drunken Saints brought the crowd to their feet with a more contemporary sound featuring Molly’s Chambers, a song originally recorded by the Kings of Leon.
This year’s success could not have been achieved without the support of its sponsors. Golden State Foods, McDonald’s West Division, and S2K Graphics were platinum sponsors of the event. James Howard, CPA was a gold sponsor. Silver sponsors included The Coca Cola® Company, F. Gavina & Sons, Davis Elen Advertising, and McDonald’s Southern California Region.
When asked about the success of this year’s event, RMHCSC CEO Nicole Rubin stated, “This year’s event was the best yet. We had three superb bands, including a new appearance from Duct Tape & Beer at GSF. And, the new venue at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney® was just terrific. My heartfelt thanks to all who participated.”
“For great entertainment, great food, good times and a great cause, you just can’t beat the Rock the House event,” commented the event’s founder, Dan Pulos of S2K Graphics. “We are appreciative of not only those who support this event with their generosity, but also to Ronald McDonald House Charities for the good work that they do for children and their families.”
Pulos went on to explain that next year’s event would be held again at the House of Blues in Anaheim. For more information on this year’s event and updates on the 5th Annual Rock the House event in 2008, visit www.rockthehouseusa.org.

World Class Printing
S2K Wins Prestigious Golden Image Award
November 2004
S2K
Graphics is proud to announce its recognition as a Golden Image Award
winner at the Specialty Graphics & Imaging Association (SGIA) Convention
in Minneapolis in October. Perhaps the most prestigious printing competition
in the commercial printing industry, the SGIA’s Golden Image or
“Golden Squeegie” competition takes place each year as part
of the SGIA’s worldwide convention.
Hundreds of commercial printers from around the globe submit examples
of their best work from the prior year. A panel of expert, independent
judges evaluate entries in several different categories for both technical
print quality and overall impression. To ensure fairness in the judging
process, entries are submitted “blind” and do not contain
any markings which would identify who printed the work.

S2K Graphics was one of three winners in the Posters / P.O.P. category.
S2K’s recognition as a Golden Image Award winner is a testament
to the firm’s ongoing commitment to becoming one of the best 4-color
process screen printers in the USA. S2K’s 4-color print process
relies on a scientific process which provides predictable, consistent
color-matching on any substrate or across multiple print platforms.

S2K Graphics / Signs 2000 Moves Into
New 30,000 Square-Foot Production Facility
July 2004
Click on any image below to download a higher resolution image.

S2K Graphics, one of Southern California’s leading digital &
screen printers, completed the move into its new 30,000 square foot production
facility in early 2004. The move, which had been on the drawing board
for over nine months, allowed S2K Graphics to consolidate administrative,
sales & operations functions under a single roof. The move also provided
the company with space for additional screen printing equipment and future
growth.
The 2004 move marks the third time in S2K’s history that the company
has moved. S2K Graphics was founded by Dan Pulos in 1989 as Signs 2000.
The original Signs 2000 locale occupied approximately 1,000 square feet
in a busy retail district in Canoga Park, California. As the company grew
in its early years, it leased additional square footage to make space
for new employees and equipment.
In 1999, the company moved to a 5,000 square foot facility less than two
miles away. The move to the second location marked a shift in Signs 2000’s
strategy away from walk-in retail traffic toward larger commercial, corporate
customers. From 1999 to 2004, Signs 2000 leased 11,000 square feet of
additional space in two adjacent buildings to make space for new employees
and equipment. By late-2003, with the company now occupying 16,000 square
feet of industrial park space, it was apparent that the company’s
continued growth and ability to serve its customers depended on expanding
even further.
The new S2K Graphics facility, located in a high-tech, industrial park
in Chatsworth, is only onemile away from its prior location. S2K Graphics
now has 55 employees and provides clients turn-key support in the development
and execution of merchandising and promotional programs. Put another way,
S2K Graphics is much more than “just a screen printer.”
Although S2K Graphics’s core product offering -- signs, banners,
point-of-purchase & merchandising materials – is consistent
with its original offering in 1989, the company has added numerous in-house
production technologies, such as a semi-automated 4-color process screen
printing and large format photo-laser printing, in order to keep pace
with ever larger production runs and increasing client expectations regarding
quality. S2K Graphics also offers its clients creative design services,
fulfillment and shipping.
S2K Graphics has been rated by Reyhan PGF as one of the best digital &
screen printing suppliers in the United States. The organization’s
key production strength is its “Scientific Color Management”
process which ensures consistent, predictable color across multiple printing
platforms (digital to screen to litho) and various media (vinyl banner
to styrene to static cling).
Dan Pulos, Founder & President of S2K Graphics, commented, “We
are so happy to be in the new facility in Chatsworth. The new building
looks terrific and is a reflection of how we’ve grown as a company.
The new building also gives us room to keep growing and better serve our
customers.”
More information about S2K Graphics can be found at www.s2kgraphics.com.

Signs 2000 Re-Launches Company Under
New Name, S2K Graphics
February 2004
After
15 years of doing business as Signs 2000, the company recently announced
that it would be changing its name to S2K Graphics, effective February
1, 2004. Signs 2000 was founded by Dan Pulos in 1989. At that time, the
company operated out of a 1,000-square store front and based its operation
on the retail quick-sign model. Signs 2000's original customer base consisted primarily of
local retail and real estate clients, and its primary production asset
was a single vinyl plotter.
The name change from Signs 2000 to S2K Graphics reflects the company’s
new business model and service offering. Since 1989, Signs 2000 has experienced
steady growth and has had to evolve, adding countless new capabilities
to serve its customers. The old Signs 2000’s product offering was
limited almost exclusively to spot-color, cut-vinyl signs and banners.
Since1989, S2K Graphics has added numerous in-house production technologies,
such as 4-color process screen printing and large format photo-laserjet
printing in order to keep pace with ever larger production runs and increasing
client expectations. S2K Graphics also offers its clients creative design
services, fulfillment and shipping. Put another way, the “new”
S2K Graphics is much more than “just a screen printer.”
S2K Graphics has been rated by Reyhan PGF as one of the best digital &
screen printing suppliers in the United States. The organization’s
key production strength is its “Scientific Color Management”
process which ensures consistent, predictable color across printing platforms
(digital to screen to litho) and media (vinyl banner to styrene to static
cling).
The original Signs 2000 operated out of 1,000 square feet of retail space
in 1989. The new S2K Graphics has 55 employees and operates out of a 30,000
square foot manufacturing facility in a high-tech industrial park. Certainly,
the new S2K Graphics has grown beyond its roots as a retail sign shop.
